Phil, along with his family founded EmergenSee®, a real-time personal security system for smartphones. His creative ideas, strategic planning and tactical execution has led to the development and creation of this innovative new technology. Prior to EmergenSee, Phil has over 21 years of visionary entrepreneurial experience, which include ventures in Real Estate, Banking and Retail Petroleum.
After a 10 year Banking career, Phil formed Reitnour Energy Corp in 1992 that he built from the ground up and sold to Mobil Oil in 1994. Phil then was a founding investor and advisor for New Century Bank a Pennsylvania community bank startup now wholly owned by Customers Bank. Phil then entered real estate on a larger scale and sought out raw land, obtained zoning approvals and created numerous solely owned real estate investments from residential apartments to large shopping centers ultimately focusing on retail land leases to various large credit tenants. In 2009, he developed a mobile commerce website called UList.com.
Phil holds a BA from the University of Delaware where he was President of his graduating class, wrestled and played football. Phil has devoted countless hours to various nonprofit organizations and also sits on numerous boards.
Jason has spent the past 17 years working to revolutionize security and law enforcement in Higher Education. He has created highly effective, multi-faceted, community-centric departments that understand how to leverage technology outside of the mainstream. Prior to joining EmergenSee he spent six years as the Chief of Police for Bucknell University. His vision for campus security is rooted in the belief that every corporation should do more than just react to problems, but proactively determine what problems may arise and blunt their impact.
Sandra’s 25 years of marketing and customer care experience with a broad range of start-ups as well as fortune 500 companies in healthcare, technology and telecommunications gives her the perfect blend of what it takes to collaborate marketing initiatives for EmergenSee.
Michael brings to the EmergenSee team specialized experience in mobile and database development, software architecture, and web development with new start-up experience. Prior to working with EmergenSee Michael founded OPTIMO information Technology, a premier IT Consulting and Digital Investigative company in the Mid Atlantic Region. With office in Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia, we serve clients in federal and state government as well as the private sector.
John is the Vice President for Booz Allen Hamilton and leads business development for the security and military intelligence-cyber markets. Mr. Avalos has served clients within the US Department of Homeland Security, Department of Defense (DoD), and the intelligence and law enforcement communities.
Prior to joining Booz Allen, Mr. Avalos held various leadership roles within the BAE Systems Intelligence & Security sector, including Director, Senior Director, and Vice President of Business Development. Before his business development roles, he was Executive Officer/Chief of Staff for Global Analysis, and Program Manager and Senior Intelligence Analyst for multiple contracts supporting the DoD and intelligence community.
Tim brings nearly thirty years of experience working as a CPA with some of the largest LBO and corporate clients to his years as a principal investor with due diligence, deal structure, strategic advice, growth strategies, valuations, recaps, workouts, and litigation support. He has strong experience in tech, professional services, real estate, financial services, private equity, venture capital, hedge funds, intellectual property, high-net worth, education, and non-profit. Tim assists in growing Baker Tilly’s mid-market and growth company practice with a specific focus on companies with or looking to bring on institutional investors and lenders. Additionally, he works closely with the Baker Tilly team to bring strategic advice to companies looking to grow through acquisition.
Chad MacDonald is the Managing Partner in Connected Ventures, LLC, which invests in entrepreneurs and technology-enabled businesses that develop innovative service and supply chain companies that are disruptive to the real estate service, distribution procurement and financial services industries. Chad had been honored three times in Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year program and his company has also been recognized over the years in Inc. Magazine’s 500/5000 Fastest Growing Companies.
Chad serves as the Chairman of YPO, US Capital Chapter, and serves on numerous Boards including: Connected Services Technology, Integrated Supply, SmartCeo Publishing, Destination Cellars, Nissco and Professional Apartment Services.
Jay is the current Chief of Police at Georgetown University and has over 26 years of experience in Law Enforcement and Public Safety. Before Georgetown, Jay served 10 years as the assistant director of public safety and assistant chief of police at Maryland, where he was involved in all aspects of law enforcement, including significant work in community policing and crime prevention. He is also a nationally recognized expert on emergency management and communication on college campuses.
A trained emergency medical technician, Gruber holds two degrees from the University of Maryland – a bachelor’s in law enforcement and a master’s in applied management, as well as a graduate certificate in homeland security management. He is also a Federal Bureau of Investigation Police Executive Fellow.
Ben is a Senior at the University of Maryland (College Park) where he is majoring in Finance at the Robert H. Smith School of Business. He has earned honors like being on the “Dean’s List of Outstanding Students.” He is also a member of prestigious groups such as the National Society of Collegiate Scholars and University of Maryland Primannum Honor Society.
He brings an unwavering passion and a unique skill set. He has a knack for influencing others and framing messages in a way that is both enticing and easy to understand.
Nick is a junior at the University of Michigan (Ann Arbor) where he is pursuing at BBA degree at the Stephen M. Ross School of Business. Currently, he has a 3.8 GPA, and is on the Dean’s List. He was invited to join the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. He is also a “creator” at the Creators Co-Op where he works with and interacts with many of the brightest engineers and entrepreneurs at the University of Michigan.
Nick is particularly skillful at establishing a vision, and transforming that vision into a product.
